The Sustainable Development Goals 2

Climate change and the lack of rain for several years in a row are the root causes of the desertification of the land and the famine that is affecting thousands of people in southern Madagascar.

The Permaculture for Children project aims to promote a new vegetable gardening technique to produce food like pulses including beans, lentils and peas to ensure food sufficiency for families.

Additionnally, we are involved in the distribution of food in the Anosy region, in partnership with the Association Soa Kanto Malagasy, to deal with KERE, with a modest donation for seven districts (fokontany): Behabobo, Ekonka, Beroroha, Ankilimafaitse, Marobe, Marofoty, Ambolobe, in the Ambovombe Androy District and Commune, for about 1360 households and 7612 people.

The Sustainable Development Goals 5

Women's rights in rural Madagascar are not taken for granted and we do not give up. The 8th of March is not a day of celebration but a day of awareness: we go down the streets to help the defenceless victims. Many women work hard to earn their rice bowl and raise their children. Many of the living testimonies tell us that women come home from work exhausted and suffer physical violence, sometimes rape or very often moral violence and bullying when they return home.  The awareness days have a real impact on the lives of women and families.

The School For Women is a monthly event. Launched in 2019, this programme is popular and has a strong impact. The statement is simple: it is essential to take care of the mothers to get a better result for the children. The monthly theme is a wide range of topics: personal development, sports, debates and awareness-raising against domestic violence, emancipation of women and girls, family budget management, cooking and entrepreneurship soon.

For

Women

This project is at crossing of health / well being and gender equality. First and foremost, Health is a key factor of a successful child development. Subsequently, Women's social and economic empowerment is essential to realizing women's rights and gender equality.

Every month, we meet  with  the women living the village of Ambohibe Antananarivo to work on subjects such as family planning and the parenthood, natural contraception and education on sexuality, balanced food and nutrition, women's rights, protection against domestic violence, personal hygiene, low cost and natural beauty treatments and home-based economic activities.

These topics are covered by professionals, experts in their field, starting on  the International Women's Rights Day on the 8th March 2019. They are divided into several workshops in a small group  to ensure that there is an exchange, to set up a sharing in a friendly, accessible and understandable atmosphere for all, whatever the level of education of the participants.

This training is held once a quarter in Anjozorobe and once a year in Morondava, West coast.
